Winant "Bud" Bennett Obituary (1926 - 2017)

Winant "Bud" Bennett, age 91, of Wesleyville, passed away Monday, July 24, 2017 at LECOM Senior Center. He was born in Niagara Falls, NY on April 12, 1926, son of the late Winant and Edna Mae Bennett. Bud lived in Wesleyville for 70 years and previously worked for Swanson Erie. He was a 1st Class Machinist and Gunner with the U.S. Navy during WWII, a Scout Troopmaster for Troop 92, and coached Wesleyville Little League. Bud enjoyed gardening, crossword puzzles, airshows, and horse racing. He was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church. The family would like to express thanks to the former and present staff of Millcreek Manor/LECOM Senior Living Center, with a special thanks to his "girls". Bud is survived by his children, Raymond Bennet, Thomas Bennett (Nancy), Winona "Noni" Bennett and Michele "Shelly" Bennett; sister, Roberta Krasinski; grandchildren, Lindsey McGrath (Ryan); Mark Bratt (Tina), Michael Bratt (Danielle), and Kelly Wegley (Pete); great-grandchildren, Riley, Aiden, Leanne, Kyle, Andrew, Kaleb, Jason, Maryssa, Sophia, and Michael; great, great-grandson, Aiden; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley; sister, Helen Rockwell; grandson, Chad Bennett; great-granddaughter, Kori Bratt. Friends may call at the Dusckas Funeral Home, Inc., 2607 Buffalo Rd., on Wednesday from 3 to 8 pm and are invited to attend a Funeral Service there on Thursday at 11 am conducted by Rev. Jeffrey Piccirilli. Private interment, Erie County Memorial Gardens.
