Vincent J. Vargo Obituary (1943 - 2022)

Vincent J. Vargo, age 78, of Harborcreek, passed away Monday, May 2, 2022. He was born in Erie on June 20, 1943, son of the late John and Mary Orlecky Vargo. Vincent was a member of St. James R.C. Church. He was a graduate of Harbor Creek High School and Gannon University, where he received a Master's in Educational Sciences. Vincent first worked at General Electric, then Zurn Energy, and Gannon University in the Purchasing Department prior to retirement. He was a member of the American Legion Carl Neff Post 571, Fulton Club, Siebenbuerger Club, Wesleyville Athletic Club and was a lifetime member of the Slovak National Club. Vincent enjoyed golfing, building model airplanes and ships, gardening, and watching the Tour de France. He loved Disney World and traveling to Myrtle Beach and Hilton Head. Vincent was a veteran of the US Air Force, serving during the Vietnam War. Vincent is survived by his wife of 35 years, Dorothy E. Kusenberger Vargo; daughter, Amy Ann Beblo (Dan); stepchildren, Matt Dante (Connie Bootz) and Christa Kusenberger; son-in-law, Ken Watson; grandchildren, Cole Beblo, Kenndrah Watson, and MiKenzie Kusenberger; one sister, Marie Van Der Vort; one niece, Michele; and one nephew, David. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Patty Bablak; and daughter, Beth Ann Watson. At the convenience of the family, a private service is being handled by the Dusckas Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 2607 Buffalo Rd. Interment will be held at Wintergreen Gorge Cemetery with Military Honors rendered by the American Legion Carl Neff Post 571. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
