Todd Christopher Kretz, 37, passed away February 7, 2025, after a long battle with an incurable disease. Todd was born March 13, 1987 as the 7th child of a large and loving family that would ultimately have 8 children after his brother and best friend, Erik, was born. As a child, Todd battled and won a fight with Leukemia. Todd was strong willed and a fighter his whole life, and you would know that if you ever spent time in a weight room or on a football field with him. He was kind, loving, and caring and would go out of his way to help you if you needed it and let you know how much you mattered to him.
Todd loved football and you could hear him cheering for his favorite team, the Baltimore Ravens, half a block away. Todd also loved music and in his younger years you would often find him sitting and playing guitar for hours. As he grew older, he enjoyed spending time with family and friends and telling stories of his wild antics of the past. His ability to eat the spiciest foods was phenomenal and is summed up in him licking his fingers and critiquing the flavor when doing the one chip challenge. In his down time he would go to St. George or the Sunflower to visit with friends and play pool.
Todd's ultimate love was his daughter, Cadence. His whole world changed after she was born and he lived for every moment with her. Todd was a devoted father and there was not a day that went by that he did not share how much he loved and cared for her. They loved watching movies together, cooking, drawing, and of course watching and cheering for the Ravens. Todd loved to share how proud he was of all of Cadence's accomplishments.
Todd is survived by his daughter, Cadence Kretz, his mother Ivy Kretz, his siblings Daphne Kretz, Lisa Kretz, Darrell Kretz, Hillary Kretz Harvey (Nathan Harvey), Matthew Kretz, Nichole Kretz, and Erik Kretz; nieces and nephews Elizabeth Rohan (Cory Rohan) and their children Dailah and Reggie; Miguel Cedeno (Leticia Flores) and their child Ivy; Sivan and Levi; Natalie, Rocco and Reece (Harvey); Solaris and Lily (Runkel); and his many friends.
A celebration of life will be arranged at a later date. Todd would not want to be remembered in sadness but celebrated for the life that he lived to the fullest, and Todd always loved a good party. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Oishei Children's Hospital of Buffalo Foundation in memory of Todd or to Sherman Central School FFA in honor of his daughter Cadence.
