Susan Juhas

Susan Merritt Juhas, age 72, of Harborcreek, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, August 3, 2025. She was born in Erie on June 16, 1953, daughter of the late Glenn and Marilyn Merritt.

Susan was a 1971 graduate of Harbor Creek High School and retired from General Electric after 23 years of service. She was a devoted mother and grandmother who found great joy with family gatherings, and no family gathering was complete without a hayride. Susan had a love of spending time with her grandchildren, gardening, cooking and shopping for antiques.

Susan is survived by her husband of 48 years, Michael Juhas Sr.; four children, Michael Juhas Jr. (Amanda) of Greene Twp, Kevin Juhas of Knox, PA, Kimberly Lavery (David) of McKean, PA and Kristen Sexton (Brian) of Harborcreek; grandchildren, Kane Juhas, Kevin and Lily Juhas and Kaylee and Kyler Lavery; brothers, Gordon Merritt, Don Merritt (Martha), Steve Merritt (Sue), Mark Merritt (Brenda), Mike Merritt, and Chris Merritt (Laura); as well as many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Glenn Merritt, II; and sister-in-law, Sue Merritt.

Friends may call at the Dusckas Funeral & Cremation Services Harborcreek, 5151 Buffalo Road (at Hannon Rd. in Harborcreek Twp.) on Saturday, August 9th, from 3 pm until the time of the Funeral Service there at 6:30 pm conducted by Rev. Matt Kujawinski. A private interment will be held at Wintergreen Gorge Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Autism Society of NWPA, 3308 State Street, Erie, PA 16508.
