Siero J. "Sal" Frontino Obituary (1927 - 2016)

Siero J. "Sal" Frontino, age 89, of Harborcreek, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his family, on Sunday, April 10, 2016. He was born in North East on February 27, 1927, a son of the late Louis and Jennie Vilardo Frontino. Sal was a United States Navy veteran who proudly served in World War II. He worked two jobs for many years as a bricklayer and at the General Electric Company for 37 years prior to his retirement in 1988. He was a member of the GE Quarter Century Club and the Retirees Association. Sal was an active member of Our Lady of Mercy Church where he had served as an usher and greeter for many years. He was an avid golfer and bowler and also enjoyed going to the casino, fishing, working in his yard and gardening. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Jean Leto Frontino; his second wife, Lois Morgan Frontino; a son, David Joseph Frontino; two brothers: Jack and James Frontino and three sisters: Rose Sweeny, Connie Buffalari, and Marion Soder. Survivors include his loving wife of 18 years, Helen Guth Frontino; his three children: Patty Borgia (Otto), Jeanne Angelotti (Joe) and Serrie Frontino (Linda) all of Erie; seven grandchildren: Dawn Munger, Ottavio Borgia, Alyshia Bamberger, Nicole Frontino, David Frontino, Johnathon Yauger and Michael Fogle; 12 great-grandchildren; three sisters: Amy Federici, Jenny Walker and Loretta Bruschi (Donald). Sal is further survived by his step-children who loved him dearly: Vicki Warren and James Guth (Linda), both of Harborcreek; his step-grandchildren: Brad Harvey, Beverly Krahe (Mike), Miranda Elliott (Billy), Travis Guth (Ashley) and Erik Conway (Kristy); his precious great-grandchild, Niko; and many nieces and nephews. Family and friends may call at the Dusckas-Taylor Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 5151 Buffalo Rd. (at Hannon Rd. in Harborcreek), on Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. and are invited to a Prayer Service there on Saturday at 9:15 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Mercy Church at 10 a.m. Sal will be laid to rest at Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Great Lakes Hospice or to Our Lady of Mercy Church.
