Roger Bigley

–

Erie, PA

Roger Bigley passed away peacefully on September 2, 2022, surrounded by family and friends. He was born in Erie on October 26, 1941, the son of the late Paul and Gladys Bigley.
Roger was a cement mason for many years, serving as President and Business Agent for the Erie Local prior to their merge with Pittsburgh. He started his own company, Bigley Construction, traveling the country installing commercial flooring. He enjoyed attending and watching NASCAR races, the Pittsburgh Pirates and visiting casinos. He was a humble veteran of the United States Army, serving during the Vietnam War era.
Roger is survived by his children: Scott Bigley (Debbie), Tony Bigley (Val), Michael Sandell, Tracey Sandell and Matthew Sandell (Jess); his grandchildren: Shannon, Roger, Amelia, Claire, Michael, Jake, Zohie, Corrine, and Logan. He is also survived by his sister, Kathy, and her family: the Senger, Schuster, Evans, and Moorhead families; as well as a very special cousin, David Moore (Cheryl).
In addition to his parents, Roger was preceded in death by his wife, Nina; his brother, Paul; his sister, Joanne; his grandson, James; and many special in-laws and family members.
The family would like to thank the VA for many years of quality care, especially his nurse, Faith. We are especially grateful to Kat, David, and John from Interim Hospice. They provided both Roger and our family with loving care during this difficult time.
Per Roger's wishes, no services will be held. The family would like to invite you to join us for a Celebration of Life at the Harborcreek Moose Club on Saturday, October 1st, from 1 to 3 pm. Donations may be made to Erie Animal Network or Interim Healthcare. Thank you to Rob Taylor at Dusckas-Taylor Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Harborcreek, for handling Roger's final arrangements.
