Raymond J. Sobczak Obituary (1949 - 2022)

Raymond J. Sobczak, age 72, of Erie, passed away Saturday, March 5, 2022. He was born in Erie on November 17, 1949, son of the late Raymond and Helen Sobczak. Ray was self-employed as a carpet installer for 44 years, retiring in 2017. He was an avid fan of the Erie Otters and enjoyed being a season ticket holder. Ray was a frequent guest at Quaker Steak and Lube and was very proud of his boys. Ray is survived by four sons, Raymond J. (Rachel), Jesse L., Shawn R., and Jay R. (Mariah) Sobczak; one daughter, Tammy Sobczak; one brother, Norman Sobczak (Edna); one sister, Darlene Sobczak (Marilyn); five grandchildren, Sierra, Sophea, and Wyatt Sobczak, and Sierra and Anthony; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Richard Sobczak. Friends may call at the Dusckas Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 2607 Buffalo Rd., on Wednesday from 2 to 4 pm and 6 pm until the time of the Funeral Service there at 7:30 pm conducted by Rev.
