Phyllis J. Lassman

Phyllis Jean Lassman, age 76, of Erie, passed away on Friday, October 16, 2026. She was born in Erie on July 31, 1950, daughter of the late Lowell Jude and Velma (Nichols) Teribery.

Phyllis graduated from East High and went on to become a licensed cosmetologist. She transitioned into the bar and restaurant industry, owning the Broken Inn with her husband, George, for many years. Following her retirement, she spent time providing in home care to elderly patients, and most recently worked for Tanf Logistics.

Phyllis was an avid bowler for years, and served on local and state committees. She also enjoyed spending time with her dear friends Judy, and Dave, and Gwen. Her quick wit and straight forward sarcasm will be missed by all that knew her.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George C. Lassman; her sister, Nancy Seib; and brothers, Sonny and Richard Jude.

Phyllis is survived by her children, Matthew (Jennifer) Jude of Louisiana, Mario (Anna) Mezzacapo of Erie, and Maurice (Andrea) Mezzacapo of Erie; seven grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. Phyllis is also survived by siblings, Nancy (Glenn) Hunt of Kansas, and her twin brother, Phillip (Catherine) Jude of Erie.
