Patrick A. Minnaugh, age 72, passed away peacefully at his Harborcreek home on Monday, February 1, 2021. He was born in Harrisburg on June 29, 1948, son of the late Joseph A. and Roseline G. Bricoteau Minnaugh.
Patrick was very proud of his Irish and French heritage. Some of his most treasured memories stem from his childhood, traveling abroad to visit his mother's family in France. He returned to France with his own children and relished sharing with them the history and love of his French heritage.
Patrick spent many happy years working at the family business, Erie Coca-Cola Bottling Company. He most recently worked for Welch's, where he easily made many friends. Patrick had a way of making anyone and everyone feel welcome. He had a love for history, especially the Civil War; he was an avid reader and enjoyed solving crossword puzzles.
Above all, Patrick loved his family passionately. He was so proud of them and their accomplishments, sometimes bragging about them over-zealously. He never missed one of his daughter's ballet performances or any of his sons' sporting events. As a soccer enthusiast, he loved watching his boys play soccer. His unmistakable laugh was recognized throughout the stands when he entered the stadium, as the life of the party had arrived.
The positivity and passion with which he raised his children set an example of what fatherhood should be. His "Iron Man" strength was truly admirable as he endured and overcame numerous recent health setbacks. He was a fighter until the end.
Patrick married the love of his life, Carolyn, and in their 42 years together, they raised four wonderful children: Patrick (Carmin), Micheline Sabic (Emedin), Christopher and Cory; and cherished two grandsons: Patrick John Minnaugh and Damir Adem Sabic. Patrick is further survived by his daughter, Heather Birtciel (Darrin); their three children: Marcus, Connor and Leanna; brother, Joseph Minnaugh; brother-in-law, Jim Stuczynski, sister-in-law Kathleen Stucynski, and many aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Patrick was preceded in death by a sister, Chantal A. DeRose.
Family and friends are warmly invited to call at the Dusckas-Taylor Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 5151 Buffalo Rd. "May there always be work for your hands to do. May your purse always hold a coin or two. May the sun always shine on your windowpane. May a rainbow be certain to follow each rain. May the hand of a friend always be near you. May God fill your heart with gladness to cheer you."
