Patricia G. Hovey Obituary (1952 - 2018)

Patricia G. Clark Hovey, age 66, of Sherman, NY and formerly Erie and Salamanca, NY, passed away peacefully in her sleep, at home, on Tuesday, February 27, 2018. She was born in Erie on January 24, 1952, a daughter of the late William and Lois (Steel) Clark. Patty was a graduate of East High School. Her employment history was rich and varied and included many different occupations; her favorite jobs being a nationally certified massage therapist and a surgical processing tech. She was last employed as a corrections officer at SCI Cambridge Springs prior to her retirement. Patty was a member of the Lawrence Park Athletic Club. She enjoyed visits to casinos, playing bingo, reading, writing poetry, knitting and crocheting. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, John A. Moyak, Jr. and one grandson, Anthony D. Burkett. Survivors include her two children, William J. Sechrist (Dawn) of Edinboro and Dawn E. Burkett (Ron) of Sherman, NY; five grandchildren: Haley and Billy Sechrist and Tyler, George and Albert Burkett; two brothers: Mike Clark (Linda) of Girard and Donald Clark (Nancy) of Millcreek Twp. and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Family and friends may call at the Dusckas-Taylor Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 5151 Buffalo Rd. (at Hannon Rd. in Harborcreek Twp.), on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. Patty will be laid to rest privately at the Albion Cemetery, next to her son, John.
