Pamela J. Zysk Obituary (1958 - 2023)

Pamela J. Zysk, age 65, of Lawrence Park, passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by family after a long journey with cancer on Tuesday, October 31, 2023. She was born in Wesleyville in 1958, daughter of the late James Shadduck and Gloria Royall. Pam was the beloved wife of Thomas S. Zysk, married for 40 years; loving mother of Mark (Marcee) Zysk and Colleen (Alex) Jenson; adored grandmother of Zoey and Ezekiel Zysk; dear sister of Gayle (Tim) Lindvay, Les (Donna) Patmore, and Thomas (Caswell) Patmore. Pam graduated from Iroquois High School in 1976. Her first job was at Arthur Treacher's on Buffalo Road, where she worked her way up to manager. From there, she took various positions with Val Pak, Home Interiors, and even cleaned homes with a dear friend, Michelle. Later, after working at a couple of District Justice offices, Pam got a job at the Erie County Courthouse as the jury coordinator, from which she retired. While working various jobs, Pam did what she did best: being mom to her two children, Mark and Colleen. She made sure to make it to all of her children's sporting events while they were in high school and was like a second mom to many of their friends. Pam was also involved with the school and community as a PTO member, running the Lawrence Park 4th of July parade for a few years, coordinating the After Prom while her kids were in school, and was a founding member of AMZ. Pam enjoyed time spent with her family and friends and enjoyed celebrating Labor Day by hosting the Zysk family horseshoe tournament for over 20 years. Her most fond memories were made during their annual family vacation to Dohler's cottages, which was a weeklong reunion with friends and family. Pam will always be remembered for being a strong individual, who kept a smile on her face through all the health issues she faced in her life. She lit up the room with her smile and illuminated the world with her heart. She will be dearly missed by her family and many friends. The family extends a heartfelt thank you to the nurses and care givers of VNA Hospice of Erie County. They will be forever thankful for the compassion they showed Pam and their family during a difficult time. Family and friends are warmly invited to call at the Dusckas-Taylor Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 5151 Buffalo Rd. (at Hannon Rd. in Harborcreek) on Sunday, November 5th from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM and are further invited to attend a funeral service at Lawrence Park United Methodist Church, 4015 Niagara Place on Monday at 11 AM, to be conducted by Reverend Karen Trask. Following the service, Pam will be laid to rest at Wintergreen Gorge Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Lawrence Park United Methodist Church or a charity of one's choice.
