Mary Reksa

Mary Reksa, age 97, passed away Monday, July 30, 2018 at Elmwood Gardens. She was born January 1, 1921, daughter of Stanley and Frances Siatkoska Bocianowski.

Mary loved reading the newspaper every morning, listing to the Polka Hour on Sunday and watching Football Games. In her early days, she worked at the Marx Toy Company and retired from General Telephone Company. She enjoyed a donut and coffee in the morning and chocolate candy at night. During the week, she had to have a Mc Donald hamburg with fries or a Burger King Whopper Jr with onion rings.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley T. Reksa; and her daughter, Marilyn Reksa Ritchie; brothers, Casmier, Walter, Stanley, Michael, Joseph and Edward Bocianowski; and sisters, Virginia Sanfratello, Helen Wieczorek Bielak, Jane Betty Ferrara, and Gladys Santabene.

She is survived by her daughter, Cynthia Fabin, with whom she lived, her son, Thomas S. Reksa; grandchildren, Stephen Fabin, Ambercyn Fabin, Wendy Fabin, Thomas Jordan, Jerilynn Ritchie O'Brien, Renee Reksa Krasinski, and Ryan Reksa; great-grandchildren, Tucker Fabin, Katie and Annie O'Brien, Nora and Charlie Krasinski, and Tom and Nicole Jordan and many nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at the Dusckas Funeral Home, Inc., 2607 Buffalo Rd., on Thursday from 10 am until the time of the Prayer Service there at 11 am followed by a Funeral Mass at St. James R.C. Church at 11:30 am. Interment will follow at Trinity Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. James School Scholarship Fund, 2635 Buffalo Road, Erie, PA 16510.
