Mary Ann Steward Langdon Palmer

Mary Ann Steward Langdon Palmer, age 81, of Mesa, AZ, formerly of Erie, passed away on Thursday, September 29, 2016. She was born August 20, 1935 in Ashtabula, OH, daughter of the late William H. and B. Marie Carter Steward.

Mary moved to Harborcreek as a teenager and graduated from school there in 1953. She loved crafts, sewing, fishing and camping. She sold Avon in the area for 10 years. She was centerpiece chairman for Christian Women's Club. She attended South Harborcreek United Methodist Church. In 2000, she moved to Phoenix, AZ. Then in 2006, she and her husband moved to Mesa, AZ, where she joined the Mesa First Nazarene Church.

Besides her parents, Mary was preceded in death by a sister, Pearl Marie; her stepfather, Howard "Hoot" McKean; her first husband of 43 years, Richard J. Langdon; stepbrother, Royal Palmer; stepsister, Betty Barrel; stepson, Charles Palmer; and two brothers, William R. and David J. Steward.

Mary is survived by her second husband, Carlton Palmer of Mesa, AZ; two sons, Richard H. "Rick" Langdon of Erie and Michael "Mike" Langdon (Karyn) of Harborcreek; stepson, Carl Palmer, Jr. of Phoenix, AZ; daughters, Carol Langdon of Erie, Karen Kerner (Pat) of Waterford and Bonnie Langdon (Ernie Mazzarisi) of Madison, NJ; stepdaughter, Melody Winkelbauer (Dan) of Waterford; stepbrother, Howard McKean (Phyllis) Louisville, OH; stepsister, Beverly Balcom Pulaski, of NY; 22 grandchildren and over 40 great-grandchildren.

No calling hours will be observed. Private burial arrangements were handled by the Dusckas Funeral Home, Inc., 2607 Buffalo Rd. Mary will be laid to rest in Wintergreen Gorge Cemetery with her first husband.
