Marsha Suzanne Newberry Rzodkiewicz

–

Erie, PA

Marsha Suzanne Newberry Rzodkiewicz, (Marsha Rocky), age 68, of Harborcreek, PA, passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by her loving family. She valiantly battled cancer for 10 months, and was called to her eternal home on Saturday morning, November 20, 2021. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Vivian Newberry; her brother, Berton Newberry; and her father and mother-in-law, Stanley and Dorothy Rzodkiewicz.

Marsha was very active in her faith, Parish, and choir for many years. She enjoyed playing golf, and was a graduate of Harbor Creek High School and the Culinary Institute of America. She worked as a corporate chef for C.A. Curtze Company for over 10 years. If you knew her, there's a good chance you had a loving meal cooked by her, your clothing was tailored on her trusty Singer, or she comforted you with a delicious baked good. Marsha and her husband enjoyed an occasional spin at the Erie Casino together, and were avid Scrabble competitors, having battled over 10,000 games during the course of their marriage, but her first love was always caring for her family and putting their needs above any other.

She will be deeply missed and her legacy will be carried on through her family.

Marsha is survived by her devoted husband of 48 years, Jerome Rzodkiewicz (Jerry Rocky); children, Paula (Denny) Kikola, Kristie Rzodkiewicz (Rocky), Daniel (Jennifer) Rzodkiewicz, and Maggie (Marciel) Quiros. She is further survived by her 10 grandchildren, Alexis, Dennis III, Klayton, Lydia, Nolan, Devyn, Layla, Ethan, Luna and Emilia; two great-grandchildren, Teagan and Aiden; three sisters, Danise Gilkinson, Gwen Cattoni and Renee Newberry; and many nieces and nephews.

The family would also like to thank the Hillman Cancer Center and the Family Hospice team for their care and support during Marsha's illness.

Friends may call at Our Lady of Mercy R.C. Church, 837 Bartlett Road, on Wednesday from 10 am until the time of the Funeral Mass there at noon. The family requests that masks be worn due to Covid. A private interment will be held at St. Gregory Cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by the Dusckas Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 2607 Buffalo Rd.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Marsha's family through the funeral home.
