LCpl. Luke Anthony Gonda Obituary (1995 - 2017)

Lance Corporal Luke Anthony Gonda, age 21, of Harborcreek, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, July 3, 2017. He was born in Erie on October 3, 1995, a son of Kris M. Gonda of Harborcreek and Michelle L. (Hannold) Gonda (Jack Newport) of Wesleyville. Luke was a 2014 graduate of Harbor Creek H.S. He was a veteran serving in the United States Marine Corps. Infantry Company with Charlie Company, 1st Battalion, 25th Marine Regiment out of Buffalo, NY. He was also currently employed by Glenn O. Hawbaker, Inc. of State College, PA. Luke enjoyed playing video games, working out at the gym, going to camp in Marienville and loved caring for his beloved dog, Max as well as spending time with his family and friends. He cherished the time spent hanging out with his younger brother, Brady. Luke was preceded in death by his maternal great-grandparents, Edwin and Mary Hannold; his paternal great-grandparents, Al and Helen Gonda and Mildred Panfiloff and two cousins, Patrick Papale and Cole Walker. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his three brothers: Brett Gonda, Lance Corporal Jacob Gonda, USMC and Brady Gonda; maternal grandparents, Ed and Bonnie Hannold; paternal grandparents, Tom and Rebecca Gonda and Dave and Nadine Ochs; his best friends, Corporal Cutter Hall, USMC and Nate Kapsar and several aunts, uncles and cousins. Family and friends may call at the Dusckas-Taylor Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 5151 Buffalo Rd. (at Hannon Rd. in Harborcreek), on Friday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. and are invited to attend the funeral service there on Saturday at 10 a.m., conducted by Msgr. Gerald T.
