Lorraine D. Stanton

Lorraine D. Stanton, age 94, of Erie, passed away Saturday, August 20, 2022. She was born in Youngsville, PA on September 6, 1927, daughter of the late Fred C. and Nettie Jones DeVore.

Lorraine graduated from Warren High School in 1945 and married Gerald "Jim" B. Stanton on July 1, 1947. They had lived in Kissimmee, FL from 1984 until they returned to Erie in 2004. Lorraine considered her biggest joy being a homemaker who loved and supported her family. She was an accomplished seamstress and enjoyed making clothes for herself and her grandchildren.

Lorraine is survived by one sister, Lovena DeVore Rulander (Frederick) of Warren, PA; four children, James D. Stanton (Sandra) of Warren, PA, Gary T. Stanton (Dianne) of Harborcreek, Danny L. Stanton (Rebecca) of Silver Springs, MD, and Tracy J. Stanton (Bobbi) of Falconer, NY; nine grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald "Jim" B. Stanton in 2012; three brothers, Donald DeVore, Lyle Elwood DeVore, and Raymond DeVore; and one sister, Virginia Kellerman.

The family would like to thank the staff at Sarah Reed Senior Living for the wonderful care given to Lorraine.

At Lorraine's request, private funeral arrangements are being handled by the Dusckas Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 2607 Buffalo Rd. Interment will be held at Pine Grove Cemetery in Russell, PA.
