Kenley M. Merry Obituary (2015 - 2016)

Kenley Marie Merry, born on October 4, 2015, was called home to Heaven on April 7, 2016, from the loving arms of her mother and father. Because she was born with lissencephaly, her family knew to treasure each day from the very beginning. All who knew Kenley or her family are saddened to have missed the chance to watch her grow and bloom here on Earth, but Kenley's short life planted seeds in our hearts and in our minds. These tiny kernels of wisdom ache with the truth that each moment we are living is not to be missed with worry or fear, but rather celebrated with gratitude that we are here in this world together right now. Every time we hug our children a little tighter, or reach for a spouse's hand in the car, or make time in yet another all-too-busy day to help someone--because we're a little more aware of the value of time, of living right now in the present--that is Kenley's legacy. That is the seed of faith she's planted in our hearts that will blossom and scatter in the springtime breezes, so that even as we mourn her passing, we know that her soul lives on in the lessons we have learned from her life. Kenley is survived by her mother, Rachael Montgomery Merry, and father, Matthew Merry; big brother, Chase Merry; grandparents: Karen Merry and Robin and Jim Montgomery; cousin, Liliana Troup; and several aunts and uncles: Sarah Merry Troup and Nick Troup, Kelsey Merry, Stephanie Montgomery and Joshua Montgomery. She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Ken Merry. Friends may call at the Dusckas-Taylor Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 5151 Buffalo Road (at Hannon Rd. in Harborcreek Twp.), on Friday from 6 to 9 p.m. and are invited to attend a Prayer Service there on Saturday at 9:30 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at St. James R.C. Church at 10:30 a.m. Interment will be in Wintergreen Gorge Cemetery.
