Kathy Stubenhofer

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Kathy Stubenhofer, age 73. After a day spent surrounded by her loving family, Kathy passed peacefully at her home on Thursday, November 24th 2022. She was born in Somerset, PA on July 15, 1949.

Kathy received her Undergraduate Degree in Special Education from Bethany University in West Virginia and earned her Master's Degree in Special Education and obtained her Administrative Certification from Edinboro University. She first taught at the Intermediate Unit 5 and then went on to work at Millcreek School District as an Administrator in Special Education, retiring as Director of Secondary Special Education.

Kathy previously attended East Greene Presbyterian Church and was a reading enthusiast who enjoyed spending time with her family, needlepoint, crocheting, cooking and bird watching. Kathy had a knack for rescuing cats and people; and was known for her kind and caring heart. Kathy was a major supporter of all her children and grandchildren.

Kathy is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Joseph Stubenhofer; five children, Tristin Kolmansberger (David), Leanne Boehm (Jonathan), Jonathan Stubenhofer (Amy), Joanne Castro (Edwin) and Ashley Stubenhofer (Jess Sheldon); and 13 grandchildren, Jackson, Tessa, Hailey, Cameron, Max, Teagan, Bradyn, Vivian, Syrus, Leandro, Jaron, Chris and Gavin. Kathy was preceded in death by her parents and her Uncle C.B. and Aunt Betty Berkey.

To honor Kathy's memory, we are holding a Celebration of Life at the Dusckas Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 2607 Buffalo Road on Monday, November 28th, 2022 from 2 to 4 PM ET and 6 to 8 PM ET and all are invited to attend a Funeral Service there on Tuesday at 10 AM conducted by Rev. Charles McClung. Interment will follow at Wales Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer's Association at www.alzfdn.org/support-us/donate/.
