Kathleen "Katy" (Hart) Pomorski Obituary (1936 - 2023)

Devoted mother, grandmother, and best friend, Kathleen (Hart) Pomorski, of Harborcreek, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 28, 2023, surrounded by her loving family. Katy's faith, determination, and love for her family carried her through some "impossible" health challenges in recent years. Her uncomplaining acceptance was her trademark. Katy was born in Erie, the daughter of the late Francis and Clare Louise (Meyer) Hart, on July 7, 1936. Katy was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Dan, in 2016, in addition to her brothers, Don and Richard Hart. Katy retired in 2002, after working as a secretary for 18 years with the Catholic Diocese of Erie and the Sisters of St. Joseph. Katy's world was her family, of whom she was incredibly proud. She very often echoed her late husband's favorite phrase, "I have the best kids and grandkids anyone could ever have." Katy was comforted in knowing that her love and influence has ensured an extraordinary, life-long bond among her children. She could not express her gratitude enough for her children's (and their spouses') love and camaraderie in ensuring that she could remain in her little home. Katy's unselfish and gentle nature will be so missed by those who loved her most. Katy is survived by her four children: Dan Pomorski (Theresa), Doug Pomorski (June), Dennis Pomorski (Terri), and Karen Dabrowski (Tim); eight grandchildren: Caitie, Danielle, and Kevin Pomorski (Mara), Megan Goodrich (Pat), Cara Stetson (Kyle), Dylan and Claire Pomorski, and Daniel Dabrowski; and five great-grandchildren: Nora, Anna, and Natalie Goodrich, and Amelia and Josephine Stetson. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Joan Roward, and many nieces and nephews. Each of Katy's children, their spouses, and her grandchildren will forever be grateful for her parting gift of the intimate time spent just prior to her passing. Family and friends are warmly invited to call at the Dusckas-Taylor Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 5151 Buffalo Rd. (at Hannon Rd. in Harborcreek) on Friday, March 31st, from 4 to 7 PM, and are further invited to attend a Funeral Mass at St. James RC Church, 2635 Buffalo Road, on Saturday at 11 AM.
