Kathleen Joyce Firster Burkett Obituary (1951 - 2023)

Kathleen Joyce "Kathy" Firster Burkett, age 72, of Wattsburg, passed away Monday, August 28, 2023. She was born in Erie on August 25, 1951, daughter of the late Lawrence and Edith Burch Firster. Kathy was a 2011 retiree of General Electric. She was a member of the Erie Horseshoe Club and was the top woman pitcher in the area, having once won the State Championship. She also enjoyed bowling, golfing, fishing and hunting. Kathy will be remembered as loving, fun, sweet and funny. Kathy is survived by her husband, Charles Eugene Burkett; four children, Michael Burkett (Torie), Charles Burkett, Mary Evans Burkett and Tammy Burkett; one sister, JoAnn Firster (Sandy Pietrzak); and many beloved grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by six brothers, Donald L., Robert K., Gary L., David E., Larry K., and John R. Firster; one sister, Shirley L. Bilski; and three grandchildren. Friends may call at the Dusckas Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 2607 Buffalo Rd., on Friday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm and are invited to attend a Funeral Service there on Saturday at 10 am.
