Joseph K. McLain

Joseph K. McLain, age 81, of Erie, passed away Sunday, October 4, 2026. He was born in Oil City, PA on November 1, 1944, son of the late Walter and Ruth McLain.

Joe graduated from Venango Christian School and received an Associate Degree from Penn State Behrend. He was a veteran of the US Army, then was employed at GTE/Verizon, retiring as a supervisor. Joe was an active member of St. Mark Episcopal Church. He was an avid golfer, and a ham radio operator with the call sign KB3ALU. Joe enjoyed following Penn State Football and coached soccer with the EYSA league and was a member of the Jaycees.

Joe is survived by his wife, Karen McLain; four children, Kelly Weiser (Charlie), Terry Weiser, Jennifer Wellman (Ed) and Jim; his twin brother, Jack McLain (Penny); grandchildren, Jordan, Mikayla, Jacob, Emma, Samantha, Paul, Matthew and Garrett; and many great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
