John F. Wurst, Jr. Obituary (1943 - 2017)

John F. "Father" Wurst, Jr., age 74, of Erie, passed away at St. Vincent Hospital on Friday, August 18, 2017, following a brief illness. He was born in Erie on July 13, 1943, a son of the late John F., Sr. and Eleanor (Kim) Wurst. Father attended General McLane H.S. He was employed as a tool and die maker by the former Erie Forge and Steel for 35 years prior to his retirement. Father was a member of the Albion Area Sportsmen's Club, the American Legion and the Siebenbuerger Club. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, watching anything relating to Alaska and was a die-hard Buffalo Bills fan. He was also a do-it-yourself pro and hand-made his own hunting and fishing supplies. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Tony Kutterna. Survivors include his beloved wife of 42 years, Lynette L. (Foley) Wurst; six children: Tom Wurst (Christine), Tonna Greider (David), Craig Wurst, Keith Wurst (Sheila), Colleen Gorniak (Donald) and John Wurst (Lisa); five sisters: Gail Froehlich, Gerry Walters, Judy Wurst, Carolyn English and Cheryl Salyers; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Family and friends may call at the Dusckas-Taylor Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 5151 Buffalo Rd.
