Jerry Kowalski

Jerry Kowalski, age 79, of Erie, passed away at home surrounded by family on Thursday, June 1, 2023 after a brief battle with cancer. He was the son of the late Harry and Regina Smogorzewski Kowalski.

Jerry was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He loved watching his granddaughter, Sarah, dance, and his grandson, Corey, wrestle. He enjoyed family gatherings, drinking beer, and eating peanuts. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, Harley riding, day trips, and breakfast with his friends. Jerry was an IBEW member, Local Union #1319, retiring from Thayer Power and Communication Company after 37 years of service.

He was united in marriage 56 years ago to Sandi Grunzel Kowalski. In addition to his beloved wife, he leaves behind his children, Becky Brosius (Ryan), and granddaughter, Sarah Brosius; Greg Kowalski (Michele), and grandson, Corey Kowalski; and Brian Kowalski (Melanie Pol and her children, Madison and Brandon Maurice, and granddaughter, Lydia). He is also survived by a sister, Charlotte Kujawinski; a brother, Donald Kowalski; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Jerry was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles and Robert Kowalski.

Family may gather at Saint James R.C. Church, 2635 Buffalo Road, on Monday from 10 am until the time of the Funeral Mass at 11 am. Burial will follow at Mary, Queen of Peace Cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by the Dusckas Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc.
