Helen A. Gill Obituary (1928 - 2023)

Helen A. Gill, age 94, of Erie, passed away Tuesday, January 3, 2023. She was born in Erie on March 18, 1928, daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Tirak. Helen was a homemaker but during WWII, worked at Griswold and General Electric. She was a member of St. James R.C. Church and enjoyed golfing, playing cards and her casino trips. Helen especially loved her only granddaughter, Sarah and great-grandchildren. Helen is survived by one daughter, Karen Signorino and her husband, John; granddaughter, Sarah Signorino and her husband, Jerod Sikorskyj; and her great-grandchildren, Mary, Clare and John Sikorskyj. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Gill in 2006; infant sister, Mary Tirak; and her brothers, George, Joseph, Michael, John, Paul and Andrew Tirak. Friends may call at the Dusckas Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 2607 Buffalo Rd., on Friday from 2 to 4 pm and 6 to 8 pm and are invited to attend a Prayer Service there on Saturday at 10:30 am followed by a Funeral Mass at St. James R.C. Church, at 11 am. Interment will be held at Mary, Queen of Peace Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. James R.C. Church Endowment, 2635 Buffalo Rd., Erie, PA 16510.
