Helen Mae Betts

Helen Mae (Lesky) Betts, 88 passed away peacefully at her home in Harborcreek, PA on Saturday, July 4, 2026. She was born in Dubois, PA on May 26, 1938, daughter of the late Bruno and Victoria (Kulbatsky) Lesky.

Helen married Charles Betts on May 5, 1962. They moved to Erie, PA shortly after they married.

Helen worked at Bliley Electric, Pony Express, Country Fair and Penn State Behrend College, where she retired from in 1999. Her hobbies included trips to the casino, playing scratch off lottery tickets and word search puzzles. She was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan and enjoyed watching birds and wildlife in her backyard. Helen loved spending time with her grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Mary Ivoska, Jennie Kosko, Stella Freemer, Victor, Bernard, Edward and Joseph Lesky; and a son-in-law, Richard Stritzinger.

Survivors include her husband of 64 years, Charles Betts; her four children, Paul (Linda), Richard (Melissa), Cynthia Stritzinger and Jennifer (Perry) Johnson; grandchildren, Kayla, Tony, Nikki (Tim), Felicia (Willie), John, Kyleen (Frank), Tiffany (Ilion), Gressil, Tori and Abby; and two great-grandchildren, Emerson and Caden.
