Galon L. Varish Obituary (1950 - 2017)

Galon L. Varish, age 67, of Erie, passed away Sunday, October 1, 2017 from a brief illness. He was born in Corry, PA on March 5, 1950, son of the late Steve and Shirley Varish. Galon was previously employed with the U.S. Postal Service. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and coin collecting and was a member of the VFW Ronald Martin Post 3390. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in the Vietnam War. Galon is survived by his wife of 42 years, Cheryl Varish; one son, Ian Varish (Angie Clemente); two granddaughters, Kacey and Hanna Varish; one great-granddaughter, Alice; three sisters, Paulette Brabender (Tom), Paula Greener, and Danelle Lantz; and several nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the Dusckas Funeral Home, Inc., 2607 Buffalo Rd., on Saturday from 2pm until the time of the Funeral Service there at 5 pm. Private interment will take place at Lakeside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be designated to the family through the funeral home.
