Gail A. Burbules, age 59, of Millcreek, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, October 1, 2017 after a brief illness. She was born in Erie on October 22, 1957, daughter of Donna Burbules and the late Elmer Burbules, Sr.
Gail loved the Lord with all of her heart, all of her mind, all of her soul, and all of her strength. She was a hungry student of the Word of God, and any opportunity she had to read, study, or listen to teachings, she took full advantage. Gail had the faith and fight of a warrior. As the oldest daughter, she loved being a caretaker to all her family and friends. Although sick, Gail focused on others. She enjoyed volunteering at the Regional Cancer Center and Erie City Mission. She played many sports and was a standout softball player. Gail also was a fierce competitor at ping pong and was an avid card shark, so much so, you would hope she played on your team. She was passionate about cooking, especially for others. Gail sought knowledge of homeopathic medicine and healing through nutrition.
Gail was a 1976 graduate of Seneca High School and was previously employed at American Sterilizer and General Electric. Her proudest accomplishment was being a nanny to "Little Bit", her niece Farrah, and her most joyful times were spent spoiling her nieces, Rachel, Rebecca and Farrah and nephews, Cormick and Jaden. Gail was selfless, witty and had a great sense of humor, but she laughed the hardest when she was around "her kids".
In addition to her mother, Gail is survived by six siblings, Elmer Jr. (Patty), Theodore, Colleen, Ann Marie "Annie" and Jeannine Burbules, and Dee Davis (Doug); her aunt and godmother, Edna Burbules, and many cousins.
