Ella B. Lewis Obituary (1927 - 2022)

Ella B. Lewis, age 94, of Erie, was lovingly surrounded by her family when she passed away at her grandson's home on Saturday, April 30, 2022. She was born in Punxsutawney, PA on December 24, 1927, daughter of the late John and Marie Becker. Ella was an active member at Wesley United Methodist Church. She had first worked at Bliley Electric and then General Electric Co. as a telephone operator, retiring in 1988. Ella was gifted in quilt making and received many awards for her talent over the years. She also loved to cook and bake and will be missed for her wonderful potato candy. She has enjoyed playing dominos, and bingo with family and friends. Ella is survived by a son, David Lewis (Carolyn); three grandchildren, Ryan Lewis (Connie), Jennifer Rice (Chris), and Kristen Beattie; four great-grandchildren, Kylie Lewis, Dylan and Connor Rice and Tyler Beattie; a special nephew, Mike Becker (Cherrie); and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, William R. Lewis; an infant twin sister, Elva May Becker; and a brother, John Becker. Friends may call at the Dusckas Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 2607 Buffalo Rd, on Thursday from 3 to 7 pm and are invited to attend a Funeral Service there on Friday at 11 am, conducted by Rev. Debra Rogosky. Interment will follow at Wintergreen Gorge Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Wesley United Methodist Church, 3308 South St., Erie, Pa. 16510 or a charity of one's choice.
