Dorothy Belle Kuchcinski

–

Erie, Pennsylvania

Dorothy Belle (Kubiak) Kuchcinski, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, passed away peacefully at the age of 95, on Monday, October 5, 2026, at Nightingale Nursing and Rehab. Dorothy was born in Erie, on January 10, 1931, daughter of the late Stephen and Sophie (Wisniewski) Kubiak.

Dorothy worked for Erie Resistor Company until the birth of her first child, at which time she became a stay-at-home mom.

For 68 beautiful years, Dorothy was the cherished heart of her family and the loving wife of her husband, Edward. While Edward worked tirelessly as a truck driver on the road four to five days a week, Dorothy dedicated her life to creating a warm, faith-filled, and joyful home for their five children.

Together with her husband, she prioritized faith and education, ensuring all of their children completed their early education at Saint James Catholic school through the eighth grade.

An avid collector of angels, Dorothy surrounded herself with over a thousand of them in every corner of her home—a fitting reflection of the gentle, guardian spirit she provided to everyone around her. Her selfless devotion to her husband, children, and faith leaves behind a legacy of love that will be cherished forever.

Dorothy enjoyed bowling and watching her husband and son pitch horseshoes for many years.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Edward J. Kuchcinski; brothers Edward, William and Robert Kubiak; and sister, Betty Keiser.

Dorothy is survived by her daughter, Karen (Miles) Sonney, of Erie; sons, Edward II (Julianne) Kuchcinski, of Twinsburg, OH, Stephen Kuchcinski, of Erie, Paul Kuchcinski, of Erie and Robert (Alicia) Kuchcinski, of Longwood, FL; six grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Dorothy’s family would like to thank the staff at Nightingale Nursing and Rehab for their loving care.
