Dorothy M. Strycharz Bielski

Dorothy M. Strycharz Bielski, age 92, of Erie, passed away peacefully Friday, March 1, 2019 at Elmwood Gardens. She was born in Trenton, NJ on December 18, 1926, daughter of the late John and Mary Rafalski Strycharz.

Dorothy was formerly employed with the Marx Toy Company. She had such an outgoing personality that anyone who met her instantly fell in love with her. She left a lasting impression and was quite the spit-fire. Dorothy valued her family above all and loved her time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was especially thrilled to have recently met her great-great-grandson for the first time.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Bernard Bielski; one son, Dennis Bielski; one daughter, D. Diana Walkiewicz; and one sister, Dolores Wolverton. She is survived by her son-in-law, Ronald Walkiewicz; two granddaughters, Wendy Snyder, and Jennifer Wernicki; grandson-in-law, Joseph Wernicki; two great-grandsons, Cody Burkett (Tiffanie Barry), and Garrett Burkett (Emily Cieslak); one great-granddaughter, Ryann Wernicki; one great-great-grandson, Sebastian Burkett; one brother, John Strycharz of Trenton, NJ; nieces and nephews; and her dear friend, Julio.

Friends may call at the Dusckas Funeral Home, Inc., 2607 Buffalo Rd., on Monday from 3 to 7 pm and are invited to attend a Prayer Service there on Tuesday at 10 am followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:30 am at St. James R.C. Church conducted by Rev. James McCormick. Interment will follow at Mary, Queen of Peace Cemetery.
