Dora E. Francis

Dora E. Francis, age 97, of Erie, passed away Wednesday, October 7, 2026. She was born in Erie on July 16, 1929, daughter of the late Adolph and Minnie Harris Martin.

Dora was a member of St. Boniface R.C. Church. She was employed with Loblaws until her retirement. Prior to that, she was employed with A & P Grocery Store. Dora loved growing up on a farm and liked to travel with her sister and family in their motor home. She loved horses and nature and volunteered at St. Boniface Festivals, Food Pantry and funeral wakes.

Dora says the most important things she has done in her life are working hard and loving her husband and family.

In addition to her parents, Dora was preceded in death by her husband Robert E. Francis; and three sisters, Helen George, Thelma Burton and Thora Bliley; two brothers, Melvin Martin and Howard Martin; and one brother-in-law, Earl Francis. She is survived by her twin sister’s children, Kathy Gonser, Richard Bliley, Andrew Bliley (Linda) and Betsy Bliley (Kathy); cousins including Stanley Harris; one brother-in-law, Thomas Francis; and nieces and nephews.

Friends are invited to gather at St. Boniface R.C. Church, 9367 Wattsburg Road, on Thursday, October 15th, from 10 am until the time of the Memorial Mass at 11 am.
