Dennis D. Hetrick

Dennis D. Hetrick, age 74, of Harborcreek Twp, passed away on Sunday, November 30, 2025, after a brave battle with cancer. He was born in Brookville, PA on November 10, 1951, son of the late Oral Dean and Anna (Carrier) Hetrick.

Dennis was a 1969 graduate of Brookville Area High School and retired from General Electric Locomotive Division where he was employed for 38 years. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved to be outdoors. He was a member of the Erie County Sportsmen’s Club and the Gem City Gun Club, where he enjoyed shooting skeet and trap. Dennis was known for his outgoing and fun personality. His greatest treasure was his family, and time spent with the family dogs.

Dennis is survived by his beloved wife of 37 years, Barbara (Steele) Hetrick; his daughter, Hannah Carpin (Chris), who was the joy of his life; two sisters and their husbands, who were his best friends: Sherry Byerly (Marlin “Butch”) and Cindy Pierucci (Timothy); mother-in-law, Katherine Steele; two sisters-in-law: Jean Steele and Linda Horner (Rich); nieces and nephews: Scott Byerly (Melissa), Katrina Smith, Jason Pierucci (Mallie), Courtney Barger (Tom), and Tiffany Horner; as well as several great nieces and nephews, whom he loved dearly.

Friends may call at the Dusckas Funeral & Cremation Services Harborcreek, 5151 Buffalo Rd. (at Hannon Rd.) on Thursday, December 4th from 3 to 7 PM and Friday from 10 AM until the time of the funeral service there at noon. A private burial will be held.
