David J. Romanowicz

David J. Romanowicz, age 72, of Harborcreek Twp., passed away at his residence on Tuesday, September 20, 2022, following a brief illness. He was born in Erie on September 1, 1950, son of the late Boniface and Estelle (Chichocki) Romanowicz.
David was a graduate of the former Tech Memorial High School. He was employed by the former Hammermill/International Paper Co. for over 30 years; having retired as a supervisor. Early on in his career, David met who was to become his best friend and the love of his life, Wendalyne J. "Wendy" Rockwell, who was also employed by Hammermill. They were married on February 19, 1972. After spending 50 years of love and devotion together, Wendy passed away on May 20, 2022.
David enjoyed fishing and was also an avid golfer. He also enjoyed travelling extensively with Wendy; they especially loved vacationing together in Hilton Head. In addition, he loved animals, especially dogs. His home was complete with his favorite pet Cocker Spaniels.
Survivors include his sister, Mary Kocur (Chuck); niece, Elizabeth Kocur; nephew, Charlie Kocur (Tara); and great-nice, Elliott.
As per David's request, he will be laid to rest privately with his beloved wife, Wendy, at Wintergreen Gorge Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the ANNA Shelter, 1555 E. 10th St., Erie, PA 16511, or St. Stanislaus Catholic Parish, 516 E. 13th St., Erie, PA 16503. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the care of the Dusckas-Taylor Funeral Home & Cremation Services.
