David Donald Kindle

–

Springboro, Pennsylvania

David Donald Kindle, 64, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 15, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family. Born January 2, 1962, in Erie, Pennsylvania, David was the son of Charles Leroy Kindle and Eleanor (Fratus) Felix. He attended the Fort LeBoeuf School District and later Mercyhurst Northeast.

Throughout his life, David followed several different career paths. After high school, he spent years running auto body shops before working as a private investigator. Later in life, he attended Mercyhurst North East and became a physical therapist assistant, a role well suited to his natural ability to connect with and care for others.

David had a big personality and an even bigger heart. Mischievous, gentle, charismatic, and kind, he was often the life of the party and always enjoyed a good story. He was also staunch and unwavering—a man who knew where he stood, remained true to himself, and was fiercely devoted to his family. Family was at the center of David's life, and he found happiness in the simple moments that brought the people he loved together—sitting around a good fire, gathering everyone for family game night, or spending time outdoors hunting with his kids.

David had a way of making people feel welcome and could strike up a conversation with just about anyone. It didn't matter whether he had known you for 50 years or five minutes—he wanted to engage with you, share a laugh, hear a story, or tell one of his own. He was a welcoming soul who genuinely enjoyed people and the connections he made with them. And no one could ever beat his hugs.

David loved his family tremendously. He was the proud father of three children, Jacob C. Kindle (Kiandra Robison), Nathan D. Kindle (Elyse Kindle), and Leah M. Kindle (Jeremy Heitman); and a loving Papa to Lincoln and Oliver Kindle, and Bowen and Niko Heitman.

David is also survived by his mother, Eleanor (Fratus) Felix; his sister, Vickie Lampe (Chris Lampe); as well as many beloved aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends. David was preceded in death by his father, Charles Leroy Kindle, who passed away in 2009; and his brother, Timothy Kindle, who passed away in 2015—two deeply loved figures in his life whose absence he carried with him and whom he deeply missed throughout the years.

David loved classic rock, with Pink Floyd holding a special place among his favorites. He was also an excellent cook and loved preparing good food for the people around him. He enjoyed time spent sharing those meals, listening to good music, and reminiscing about the old days and the memories made along the way.

His life will continue through the stories his family and friends tell, the songs that will forever bring back memories of him, the laughter shared when remembering his antics, and the pieces of himself that live on through his children and grandchildren.

David was deeply loved, and that love does not end with his passing. His family will carry him with them—in their memories, in one another, and in all the ways his life helped shape their own.

He will be profoundly missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.

In lieu of flowers, the family invites you to share your favorite memories, stories, and photographs of David by mailing them to PO Box 3, Albion, PA 16401. These memories will help his family celebrate and preserve the many stories of a life so well lived.
