Danyla “DeDe” Escalante-Carlson Obituary (1980 - 2022)

Danyla "DeDe" Escalante-Carlson, 41, of Erie, passed away unexpectedly in Tallahassee, FL on Wednesday, January 19, 2022. She was born in Rapid City, SD on July 5, 1980, daughter of Elizabeth Simental and her husband, Obegario "Rooster". Danyla was a graduate of the Hill City High School in Hill City, SD. She was a devoted mother who fiercely loved her five children, all of whom were the center of her world. In addition to her parents, Danyla is survived by her husband, Derek A. Carlson; her beloved five children: Andrew "AJ", Landon, Tyler, Treven and Braydn Roach; two brothers: Rico and Angel Simental; two sisters: Vanessa Pribil and Dana Sheldon; her children's father, Jammie Roach; father-in-law, Albert Carlson; brother-in-law, Jon Carlson (Debra); as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Friends and family are warmly invited to call at the Dusckas-Taylor Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 5151 Buffalo Road (at Hannon Rd. in Harborcreek Twp.), on Saturday from 1 PM until the time of the Funeral Service there at 4 PM to be officiated by Reverend Jason Feigh Danyla "DeDe" Escalante-Carlson. Danyla will be laid to rest on Monday at 3 PM at Wintergreen Gorge Cemetery.
