Corey L. "Bub" Zearfoss

Corey L. “Bub” Zearfoss, age 48, of Erie, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, July 19, 2026. He was born in Minot, ND on April 29, 1978, son of Darrell and Susan Zearfoss and Roberta Hurrell and Mike.

Corey was a graduate of Central High School. He enjoyed bowling, hunting, fishing, golfing, and participating in the bocce league at Blessed Sacrament. A natural competitor, he seemed to excel at every game he played. He especially cherished the time spent with his family at Camp Cochise in Tionesta, a place made even more meaningful because he and his father worked together to rebuild it. Gifted with his hands, Corey had a knack for fixing just about anything, often finding a way to make repairs with whatever he had on hand.

In addition to his parents, Corey is survived by his high school sweetheart of 33 years and wife, Amanda Wieczorek Zearfoss; his fur babies, Lani and Minxy; his siblings, Vanessa Adolphson (John), Ryan Wonner (Kristen) of NC, William Wonner and Dale Rickman (Brandy) of MS; his grandfather, Donald Zearfoss of Jonestown, PA; and numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Ethel Zearfoss; uncle, Gary DeVitto; and fur babies, Tysen and Roscoe.

The family would like to thank all their family and friends, US and Canadian Coast Guard, Air Force, first responders and the entire community for all their help and prayers while searching for Corey.
