Corban “Cory” Robert J Johnson Obituary (1989 - 2023)

Corban "Cory" Robert J Johnson, age 33, of Erie, passed away Thursday, January 12, 2023, of natural causes. He was born in Erie on August 9, 1989, son of Mark and Cindy Hopwood Johnson. Cory was a 2008 graduate of Harbor Creek High School and 2010 graduate of Mercyhurst University in North East with an Associate's Degree in Criminal Justice. He had worked at K-Mart, JC Penneys and Macy's in Erie and as a multi-store AP Manager for Macy's Department Stores in Pittsburgh. Cory loved spending time with his family and enjoyed playing board games, paintball and video games. He was a loving uncle and was crazy about his nieces and nephews, Kayla, Elijah, Lily, Luke, Aubrey, Conner, Amelia, Alexander and Valora. He liked sports, especially football. Cory had an infectious laugh and loved to make us laugh. He often started sentences with, "remember when". His smile and hugs will be greatly missed. In addition to his parents, Cory is survived by his siblings, Adam Johnson (Chantel) of Harborcreek, Emily Brough (Warren) of Spanish Fork, UT, Angela Griffith (Michael) of Millcreek, Jacob Johnson of Harborcreek, Julie Johnson of Provo, UT, and Stephen Johnson (Regan) of Clarksville, TN; nine nieces and nephews and many cousins, aunts, uncles and friends. Friends may call at the Dusckas-Taylor Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 5151 Buffalo Road (at Hannon Rd. in Harborcreek Twp.) on Sunday from 3 to 6 pm. Further visitation will be held on Monday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 1101 South Hill Road, from 10 am until 10:45 am, with the Funeral Service to follow at 11 am. Interment will follow at Wintergreen Gorge Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Shriners Hospital for Children, 1645 West 8th Street, Erie, PA 16505.
