Cherol Christina Austin Obituary (1984 - 2024)

Cherol Christina Austin, age 40, of Corry, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, June 24, 2024, at UPMC Hamot. She was born in Erie on May 19, 1984, daughter of Cherol (Hodges) Carpin and the late Richard P. Carpin. A nurturer at heart, Cherol was a devoted stay-at-home mom and had a passion for fostering animals in need. She shared her artistic spirit through her music, photography, and songwriting. Cherol enjoyed camping and cherished spending time with family and friends. In addition to her mother, Cherol is survived by her significant other, Kevin Mundy; her beloved children: Austin Hoopsick, Hailie Carpin, Cherol Austin, Sadie Wiswell, Eddie Wiswell, Ricky Wiswell, Amanda Wiswell, Noel Mundy, Noah Mundy, Isabel Mundy, and Hunter Mundy; grandchildren: Cleo and Leo Firment; sisters: Christi Espinoza and Katie Torres-Pacileo; and brothers: Richard Carpin and Glenn Carpin. In addition to her father, Cherol was preceded in death by her husband, Steven J. Austin, Gary M. Carpin, and John A. Jordan. Friends may call at the Dusckas Funeral & Cremation Services Harborcreek, 5151 Buffalo Rd. (at Hannon Rd.) on Sunday, June 30th, from 12 PM until the time of a prayer service there at 2:30 PM. Cherol will be laid to rest at Wintergreen Gorge Cemetery alongside her father.
