Charles Charney

Charles Charney, age 88, of Harborcreek, passed away on Wednesday, October 4, 2023. One of the last 3 surviving of 10 children, Charles was born in Huey, PA on February 19, 1935, son of the late John and Martha Shick Charney.
Charles was a veteran of the US Army. He was employed by GE for over 30 years prior to his retirement. Charles was a very hardworking guy and would help anyone in need. He was a very good mechanic who could fix anything. He loved cars and enjoyed the outdoors: hunting, fishing, and camping. He enjoyed all of his family and grandchildren. He enjoyed his life completely to its fullest.
Charles is survived by three children: Charles M. Charney (Sandra), Jacquelyn M. Jones (Phil), and John J. Charney (Maria Unger); 9 grandchildren: Justin (Katie), Nick (Brittany), Carlie (John), Stef (Shane), Charles (Megan), Danielle (DJ), Breanne (John), Chelsea (Aaron), and John J. "JJ"; 25 great-grandchildren and one on the way; 2 sisters: Esther Charney and Alva "Sis" Ohman; and several nieces and nephews.
Charles was preceded in death by his wife Carolyn Dorothy (Ambrose) Charney to whom she exchanged vows with on July 6, 1963; and 7 siblings: John Charney, Paul Charney, George Charney, Mern Rainey, Irene "Wink" Charney, Albert "Butch" Charney, and Raymond "Bud" Charney.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Shriners Hospitals for Children or VNA Hospice. Private Arrangements have been entrusted to the Dusckas-Taylor Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Harborcreek.
