Carolyn Schuler

–

Erie, Pennsylvania

Carolyn E. Adamus Schuler, age 68, passed away unexpectedly at UPMC Hamot on Tuesday, April 1, 2025. Carolyn was born in Erie on November 27, 1956 to the late John Adamus and Rhea Boring Akerly.

Carolyn attended Gannon University as a mother of four, earning a Bachelor's Degree in English on the Dean's List throughout. She held several positions over the years but especially enjoyed grant writing. She loved her family fiercely, was extremely generous, principled and had a soft spot for the underdog in all situations. Carolyn was truly unique, a free spirit who marched to the beat of her own drum with a quirky sense of humor, quick wit and quicker pen.

In addition to her parents, Carolyn was preceded in death by her daughter, Jennifer Turner Sisco; sons, Matthew Schuler and Eric Robinson II; grandchildren, Hayley McMillen and Zachary Kaday; sisters, Cheryl Mook and Karen Pannuti; and her first husband, Steven Turner.

She is survived by her daughter, Stephanie Turner; son, Michael Schuler; grandsons, Blake Kaday (Sara), Steven Hartleb and Aiden Salhoff; sister, Marni Alward (John); and brother Leon Akerly, as well as aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Arrangements are private and being handled by Dusckas Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc. Memorial contributions may be made to Carolyn’s family through the funeral home.
