Betty Jo “B.J.” (Beltram) May Obituary (1936 - 2024)

Cherished Mother and Gramma, Betty Jo "B.J." (Beltram) May, age 88, of Erie, died early Tuesday morning, April 2, 2024, at Brevillier Village. She was born on February 23, 1936, in New Castle, PA to the late Romeo and Dorothy (Miller) Beltram. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert May; brothers: Romeo "Sonny" Beltram and David Beltram; sister, Wanda Nicks; and granddaughter, Jordan Edinger. B.J. is survived by her sister-in-law, Mary Beltram; 4 children: sons, Reverend Ronald May (Glenda) and Ricky May (Monique), and daughters, Laura Epperson (Bill) and Dr. Linda May (Jerry Infantino); 10 grandchildren: Ashley Vag (Jeff), Ryan Epperson (Katie), Jamie Hofmann, Brandon DiMarco, Karlie May (David), Brittany DiMarco, Gram's twinsie, Ryan Edinger, Jonathon May (Savannah), Kristie Leiter (Luke), and Collin May; as well as 8 great-grandchildren: Addy, Kasey, Ryan, Delaney, Cole, Ava, Addy, and Dax. B.J. attended Edison Elementary and graduated from East High School in 1955. She began working in high school at Murphy's Five and Dime. Her working career included First National Bank in Lawrence Park, as a CNA at Ball Pavillion and LEIR, and lastly as a secretary for District Justice Pete Nakosky, from which she retired to continue to help raise her grandchildren. B.J. was an active parishioner at Trinity Lutheran Church, where she taught Sunday school, sang in the choir, and was a member of the Ladies Aid Society. In her later years, she attended services at East Side Christian Missionary Alliance Church. The factual information included above does not begin to tell the story of who our beloved Mom was. Aside from a most loving and caring caretaker to her entire family, she was a devout Christian who loved and praised her Lord on a daily basis. She sincerely loved the Sacred Scriptures that she read daily and lived her life always doing unto others as you would want done unto yourself. We can honestly say in her 88 years we were blessed to have her with us, we never ever heard her say a negative thing about anyone, much less lose her temper or patience. B.J.'s most infectious and hearty laugh will forever be a priceless memory for all to cherish. Her favorite thing to do, aside from spending endless time with her children and grandchildren that she adored, was going to church. God was so very important in her life and quite honestly if Mom is not already cradled in the loving arms of our Lord, well, we are ALL in deep trouble!!! Her family would like to extend sincere appreciation and heartfelt gratitude to the entire staff at Brevillier Village, whose care, concern and friendship with and for our Mom will not soon be forgotten. Friends may call at the Dusckas Funeral & Cremation Services Harborcreek, 5151 Buffalo Rd. (at Hannon Rd.) on Friday, April 5th from 4 to 7 PM and are invited to attend a prayer service there on Saturday at 11 AM. Entombment will follow at Lakeside Cemetery.
