Anthony Michael “Tony” Bruno Obituary (1975 - 2023)

Anthony Michael "Tony" Bruno, age 47, of Erie, passed away at his residence, surrounded by family on Tuesday, May 9, 2023, after a brief illness. He was born in Erie on July 25, 1975, son of the late Francis Salvatore and Carol Ann (Nestor) Bruno. Tony was a 1993 graduate of Strong Vincent High School. He had been employed by Beals McMahon Painting for the last 7 years, most recently working at Saint Vincent Hospital where he was well-known and liked. He was an active member of the IUPAT Local #549 since 2003. Tony and his wife, Lena, have managed the Belle Valley Bingo Hall for the last 12 years. He was an avid Penguins fan and loved his family time with his girls. Tony was the most selfless man you could meet. He touched the lives of everyone he met and held a significant place in their heart. From the day of his diagnosis, Tony knew he wanted to fight and did so until the very end. He handled his battle with grace and somehow still made sure his loved ones were okay. Tony is survived by his wife of 17 years, Lena (Nulph) Bruno; two daughters: Kaitlyn and Kylie Bruno; two brothers: Todd (Janna) and Frank (Shelly Sokolowski) Bruno; two sisters: Erica (Brandon Casey) and Tory Bruno; in-laws, Pam and Don McLaughlin; sisters-in-law: Jessica (Jake) Rutkowski and Kerrie (Jason) Pettinato; nieces: Bre, Alivia, and Reese Rutkowski; nephews: Trevor and Shaun Bruno; as well as aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and union brothers. In addition to his parents, Tony was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Danny Nulph. Family and friends are warmly invited to call at the Dusckas-Taylor Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 5151 Buffalo Road (at Hannon Road in Harborcreek) on Monday, May 15, 2023 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM and are further invited to visit at St. Luke RC Church, 421 East 38th Street, on Tuesday from 10 AM until the time of the Funeral Mass there at 11 AM, to be conducted by the Reverend Michael DeMartinis. A benefit is being held on June 3, 2023 from 4 to 8 PM at JPT Event Center, 2319 West 38th Street.
