Ann Catherine (Weigand) Nagosky Obituary (1943 - 2024)

Ann Catherine (Weigand) Nagosky, 81, of Harborcreek Township, passed away Tuesday, July 2, 2024. She was born in Erie on April 21, 1943, a daughter of the late Eugene and Teresa Weigand. Ann graduated from St. Patrick's School and Villa Maria Academy, and went on to earn a bachelor's degree from Mercyhurst College and a master's degree from Edinboro University. She spent 46 years as an educator, teaching French and mathematics at Iroquois High School, mathematics at Harbor Creek High School, and mathematics at Gannon University, Mercyhurst-North East, Mercyhurst University, and Penn State-Behrend. Later in life, she took post-baccalaureate courses in accounting at Mercyhurst University and became a CPA. But a mere accounting of her years at the front of the class doesn't reveal anything about her love of teaching. She enjoyed working with students so much that she tutored at her kitchen table in her spare time. Ann was also a talented seamstress, specializing in doll clothes for little girls and walker and wheelchair totes. She loved to have multiple sewing machines rattling away at the same time. Ann also had a green thumb, loving gardening and flowers. Ann is survived by her husband of 57 years, Richard E. Nagosky, whom she married on July 6, 1966; sons, David P. (Kelly) Nagosky of Smithtown, N.Y., and Paul E. (Kimberly) Nagosky of Quantico, Va.; grandsons Timothy, Tyler, and Jeremy Nagosky of Smithtown and Mark and Matthew Nagosky of Midlothian, Va.; nephew Mark Simpson; and niece Sherry Rieder. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by son Michael E. Nagosky. Friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church, 837 Bartlett Road, on Monday, July 8, at 11 a.m. Arrangements are being handled by Dusckas Funeral and Cremation Services in Harborcreek.
