Aaron Duane Edmondson

–

Erie, Pennsylvania

Aaron Duane Edmondson, age 89, of Erie, passed away at his home lovingly surrounded by his family, on Saturday, July 4, 2026. He was born on August 29, 1936 in Redlands, CA. son of the late Harold and Margaret Edmondson.

Aaron lived in Key West, Miami & Pensacola, FL. The family, including sisters, Marcia, Sandy and Patty, moved to San Diego where he attended schools and graduated from SD State University in business. He worked at the SD Zoo to get through college, as a tour bus driver. He and his first wife, Rita, had 3 boys: Dan (Terry) FL., Steven (Cathy) WA State, Dave (Robert) VA.

Aaron started his service in the US Navy in Kaviti, Philippines. Next, he was aboard a ship in Vietnam when Admiral Rickover recruited him to help build the nuclear submarines. He then was a Controller of the DOE, and then the Federal House Appropriations - Energy and Water.

Aaron met Pat in the 1990ies; and married in 1996. They were fellow artists who had also served the public. They have been in No. Virginia, No. California, and NW Pennsylvania, near Sister-in-Law, Bee.

A life-time as a potter, using a wheel, resulted in many unusual loved pots Aaron made and friends enjoyed. He said PACA in Erie is the best - compared to other public studios. His portraits and figure paintings are also no less admired.

The family would like to give thanks to RK, Mel and Hunter among many. Aaron hopes you might contribute to charities of your choice or perhaps an artist.
